Analytical solutions for rheological processes around bores and tunnels

Abstract Five analytical solutions are presented for processes of linear viscoelastic, homogeneous, and isotropic solids around freshly opened bores / tunnels in various initial stress fields. The obtained via a simple direct realization Volterra’s principle. This is based on an appropriate decomposition the known solution corresponding elastic problem leads to ordinary differential equations time variable viscoelastic case. Fairly rich temporal behaviors revealed.
